    In May 2009 my 1904 Studio was temporarily installed in a white-cube space at the Rag Factory in Spitalfields, London.

    Paint and medium has changed little since the time of Mr Turner and with the assistance of Winsor & Newton, Artists Colourmen since the 1830s, I was able to reproduce their labels as they were in 1904 for use in the studio. I resolved to bring a few items of domestic comfort to the work room as tea endures as part of British culture.

    Along with suitable furniture the Private View was conceived more as Soiree where friends could meet and art could be the subject of the evening. The setting both domestic and practical offered much for both visitor and diligent artist.
